Day 1: Makassar – Toraja (Overland Journey)
- Pick-up at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport – Makassar
- Overland journey to Tana Toraja (approx. 8–9 hours)
- Lunch at a local restaurant in Parepare
- Scenic stop at Mount Nona (Erotic Mountain) for photos
- Arrival in Rantepao – check in at hotel

Day 2: Toraja Cultural Exploration

- Visit Ke’te Kesu’ – One of the most well-preserved traditional Torajan villages, famous for its iconic Tongkonan ancestral houses and rice barns. Behind the village lies a cliff with ancient hanging graves, where wooden coffins are suspended under rock ledges. The site also features cave burials and exposed human skulls and bones, giving a powerful glimpse into the Torajan way of honoring the dead. Ke’te Kesu’ is also historically known as the home of noble Torajan farmers (Patane), whose descendants continue to preserve these sacred traditions.
- Explore Tampang Allo: A natural cave burial site surrounded by rice paddies and cliffs, featuring ancient coffins, skulls, and Tau Tau effigies.
- Discover Kambira Baby Grave: A sacred tree used for the burial of infants, reflecting unique Torajan beliefs about life and death.

Day 3: Highland Scenery & Local Life

- Pallawa – A traditional Torajan village with majestic Tongkonan ancestral houses and rice barns, surrounded by lush bamboo forests. The Tongkonan in Pallawa are decorated with rows of buffalo horns stacked on the front pillars — a powerful symbol of wealth, status, and the number of buffaloes sacrificed during family ceremonies..
- Drive to Batutumonga – Located in the highlands of North Toraja, this area offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Rantepao valley and rice terraces below.
- Visit Lokomata – A unique burial site where coffins are placed in large natural boulders, surrounded by serene pine forests.
- Lunch en route or at a local homestay/restaurant with a mountain view
- Drive Soft Trekking from Batutumonga to Lempo (±2 hours) – Enjoy a scenic trek through rice fields, traditional villages, and local farms. This light trekking is perfect for those who want to experience the natural beauty and quiet charm of rural Toraja on foot.
- Visit Deri Village – A remote village home to ancient ancestral megalith stones, which reflect the Torajan tradition of honoring noble ancestors through stone monuments.

The Rambu Solo’ is a traditional Torajan funeral ceremony that happens only at certain times, often depending on family readiness and cultural customs. This elaborate event can last several days and is considered a significant cultural and spiritual occasion.
Important:
- Attendance to Rambu Solo’ is subject to availability and timing during your visit.
- If a Rambu Solo’ ceremony is occurring during the tour dates, we will make every effort to include it in the itinerary.
- Participation or viewing may require prior permission from the local community or family involved.
- If no ceremony is scheduled, the itinerary will focus on other cultural and natural highlights of Toraja
